Impact NW is looking to tell stories of clients’ successes to enlighten and inspire our donors. We serve over 36,000 individuals each year in the Portland-metro area, and cover a wide range of anti-poverty and education programs. We work with seniors, school-aged youth, families, and children and our services cover everything from housing support & rental assistance to helping kids realize that science can be fun!
With such a wide berth of programs, there are an unlimited number of amazing stories to tell. That’s where you come in! Help us select and write stories based on client experiences for use in our donor newsletters,on our website, and beyond.
Responsibilities:
● Communicate with Impact NW’s program supervisors to select stories
● Interview clients, program supervisors, case managers, etc.
● Write inspiring & engaging 400-500 word stories for use on our website and in our newsletter
● Work with a volunteer photographer to conduct a client photoshoot to compliment the article
Qualifications:
● Provide samples demonstrating strong writing abilities
● Self-driven & excellent interpersonal skills
● Must be comfortable conversing with clients about potentially sensitive topics
Minimum age: 18
