Volunteers work in all areas of the medical center and are valued for their commitment, talents and time supporting the healing ministry of St. Mary Medical Center. More than 1,000 adult, junior and college-age volunteers provide over 100,000 hours of service annually. Volunteers come from all walks of life including retirees, homemakers, business professionals, college and high school students. Volunteers can be found in almost every department performing duties in clinical settings, assisting with office work, driving our shuttle vans, helping at our thrift and gift shops and providing support to our patients and colleagues.

Mission Statement
The Community League works under the direction of the St. Mary Foundation and is led by a president with a cabinet providing strategic guidance. We are excited about our vision and mission and look to the future. The league is growing, and we hope that you will consider growing with us as a volunteer. The Community League is a fun-raising, friend-raising, fund-raising group of men and women dedicated to supporting St. Mary Medical Center. Since its beginning, the organization has raised more than $5 million to create The Healing Gardens on the medical center campus and help fund technological and other important projects. Some of their activities and events include the annual Kitchen & Garden tour; working at McCaffrey Day; enjoying Out & About excursions and trips to Broadway; cooking classes; the Healing Threads program; giving welcome baskets for the Mother Bachmann Maternity Center; and providing operating expenses for the St. Mary gift and thrift shops.
Description
We are looking for volunteers that can help assist with our CARES program, along with our Thrift Shop. CARES serves as a community benefit to provide area residents in need with refurbished medical equipment such as wheelchairs, crutches, hospital beds, scooters, canes, and more. We need greeters and people who enjoy fixing small equipment parts. The Thrift Shop has items such as furniture, glassware, jewelry, clothing and much more. We are looking for volunteers to help work at CARES on Tuesday's and Thursday's from 10am-3pm. We need help at the Thrift Shop from 4pm-8pm on Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. We would like volunteers who can take donations and run the cash register. Any questions, please email Lisa Bornaschella at LBornaschella@stmaryhealthcare.org
