We need your help! The Fairfax-Falls Church Community Services Board (CSB) is seeking a volunteer to coordinate the 40 dedicated volunteers who provide the recovery groups to the Adult Detention Center.

Must have some knowledge and understanding of the recovery community and the 12-Step programs. This role would require approximately 15 hours per week, with some daytime availability needed. Some of the volunteer tasks could be done from home and some tasks will be done at the Adult Detention Center in Fairfax. The Volunteer Leader would:

• Manage the schedule and ensure groups are covered by volunteers;

• Provide orientation and training to the volunteers;

• Attend groups to help answer questions;

• Inform interested people to register through VMS system and assist with on-boarding new volunteers;

• Create new groups in the Sheriffs' computer system;

• Assist with the coordination of inmate attendance and record keeping at recovery groups;

• Make groups inactive during the holidays or when Sheriff's office asks that groups be cancelled. Suspending groups if necessary;

• Check emails on a regular basis in order to communicate with the volunteers in regards to group cancellations;

• Ensure volunteers have entered their time into the computer system and approve the time;

• Obtain approval for guest speakers and send a copy to the volunteer that accompanies the guest speaker;

• Match interested mentors with inmates in the computer system;

• Approve the materials that volunteers want to use in the class or give to the inmates; and

• Respond to the volunteers when they have a questions or issues.
