Volunteers will help with all aspects of this event from the set-up, during, and event clean up. There are also opportunities to celebrate the young "mommy to be" by providing a shower gift, planning and facilitating shower games, or bringing a yummy dish to share! Bring your friends and together we can help to create lasting memories and provide love and support for the new mommy to be!
Casa Kids, prenatal through 18 years old, who have been traumatized by severe child abuse or neglect, stay at the Casa Kids Campus, a safe and nurturing setting on 11.4 acres of land in San Marcos, California.
Each Casa Kid receives comprehensive trauma informed care tailored to their individual physical, social, emotional, developmental, and educational needs, while also ensuring they have as many healthy childhood experiences as possible.
Casa de Amparo is licensed to accept ambulatory and non-ambulatory children and those with special healthcare needs. It is the only licensed residential treatment center in San Diego County serving pregnant and/or parenting foster youth.

Description
Established in 1978, Casa de Amparo (Home of Protection ) is recognized as a leader in treating and preventing child abuse and neglect in San Diego County and beyond, with locations in Oceanside and San Marcos. The non-profit organization annually serves over 1,000 Casa Kids, from prenatal to 25 years old, as well as over 900 families, through six integrated programs that promote healing, growth, and healthy relationships. These programs include Residential Services , Counseling Services , Family Visitation , Hayward Child Development Center , New Directions , and Young Parent Network . Casa de Amparo is the San Diego Chargers Courage House, part of a national network of NFL teams and local charities dedicated to the prevention of child abuse.
