Interested in assisting and mentoring with school youth groups? Assist health educator staff members who support teens and parents such as observing and assisting in the implementation of evidence-based sexuality education curricula in school settings in North Hennepin County, and reporting and data collection. The goal for the volunteer or intern is to help implement educational programs and materials in various formats that support adolescent development and sexual health and collaborate with North Point staff, schools, and community organizations to initiate and sustain programs, and promote best practices in the field of adolescent sexual health.
Qualification include volunteer experience, excellent written or oral communication, Some experience in group leadership or facilitation, interest in teaching or training, or working with youth, Knowledge of youth development education and the ability to assist staff in a classroom setting with youth and adults.
The time commitment required for this position is 10-20 hours per week for 4-6 months; some evening and weekend hours may be required.

NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center is a comprehensive health and human services agency located in the heart of North Minneapolis. NorthPoint is comprised of two organizations: a community services nonprofit with a broad array of social and human services (NorthPoint Inc.); and a full service community health center (NorthPoint Health & Wellness Center) that includes medical, dental and behavioral health clinics. NorthPoint seeks to reduce health disparities, improve health outcomes, and enhance the overall quality of life for all residents of North Minneapolis by providing high quality medical, dental and behavioral health care, along with integrated social services such as its food shelf, housing resources and domestic violence services -- with respect, dignity and sensitivity to a culturally rich and ethnically diverse community.
