Neighbors, Inc. is a basic needs nonprofit working to reduce poverty and build community in northern Dakota County. Our biggest program is an emergency food shelf, but we also provide transportation to medical appointments for individuals without, emergency cash assistance, access to affordable clothing and household items, and other basic needs. 1,500 volunteers make it possible for us to do a lot with a little.

Twice every year Neighbors performs a nutrition study of the food we distribute in the food shelf. Using categories created by the United Way, food is ranked as a 1, 2, or 3 based on its nutritional value. Although we cannot change the way that food is ranked, we would like to improve our proess for gathering the information. The Nutrition Study Process Analyst would assess the current process and identify any ways in which the process could be improved or streamlined.

This is a great opportunity for someone skilled in logistics, process improvement, or systems management. Some of the work could be done remotely, but it would be necessary to be on-site at least a few days to learn the current process and to implement any suggestion changes. The food shelf hours are 8:30 am - 4:00 pm, but outside of those parameters the scheduling is flexible.
