Purpose: To meet and enrich the spiritual needs of residents
Requirements:
- Interest and knowledge of spiritual tenets
- Good listening skills
- Knowledge of religious traditions and customs
- Do not infringe on residents personal spiritual beliefs
- Knowledge of spiritual comfort and support during times of grief
Responsibilities:
- Sign in and out in the volunteer log every visit
- Visit in open public areas (unless background cleared for private visits)
- Limit visits so as not to tire the resident
- Visit at times the resident prefers
- Engage in group or individuals for prayer, faith study, worship, song and meditation
- Engage in study of Bible, Torah, Koran, etc
- Lead worship services or communion as vested
- Lead religious holiday activities and traditions
- Notify your supervisory immediately of any injury, fall or change in condition of a resident - assist with any incident report as necessary
Time Commitment:
- This position maybe a one-time visit or on going
- Visits will typically be from 30-60 mins 1 time a week or month
