Classroom/Ground Lesson Volunteers
FIELDSTONE FARM THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER
Our lessons not only involve the aspect of riding horse, but also include ground lessons that are invaluable in so many ways.
Students that come to Fieldstone spend time doing other horse-related activities along with riding as part of their therapy. They may spend time in the classroom doing games or art projects, or learn about horses in general. They may also spend time in the barn grooming our horses or learning all the responsibilities of taking care of horses. These activities benefit the students by teaching responsibility and giving them life-skills that can be transferred to day-to-day living.
Volunteers in this area help create a bond between the students and our horses and help students learn in a safe, fun, and friendly environment.
No experience is necessary! We will teach you what you need to know.
All potential volunteers will fill out an application. This can be done online at: Fieldstone Farm Volunteer Application
Prior to starting to volunteer, all applicants must attend a 2-hours orientation to learn what is expected and how to have a successful volunteer experience.
About FIELDSTONE FARM THERAPEUTIC RIDING CENTER
16497 SNYDER RD, CHAGRIN FALLS, OH 44023, US
Fieldstone Farm engages the therapeutic power of our horses to discover and nurture the special abilities of individuals, families and communities.
Our horses are helping our students reach goals they never imagined. People with autism and Down syndrome have said their first words. Adults with multiple sclerosis and children with neurological disorders have improved balance and gained strength after riding. Some have even taken their first steps. Children from the inner-city and high school students with emotional issues have gained confidence and become inspired to learn. Wounded military veterans and seniors with memory deficits have found comfort and hope from our horses.
