Prep Plants for Planting Season at Everett Nursery!

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Forterra

Every Tuesday in February, we will welcome volunteers to join us in helping to propagate plants in Everett’s nursery and greenhouse at American Legion Memorial Park from 3-5pm. Many of These plants will be planted this coming fall for restoration, and some of them will be used to brighten up Everett along Mukilteo Boulevard. All work will be done within the city’s enclosed greenhouses and so it can be a comfortable way to help with our restoration efforts even if the weather is cold or wet outside. Nursery work parties are often fun and social events where volunteers can play their own music and chat.

RSVP at greeneverett@forterra.org or at 425-238-0065. It is important to let us know if you plan on coming - if no one RSVPs we may cancel the event.

Location: Legion Memorial Park

144 Alverson Blvd, Everett, WA 98201

About Forterra

Mission Statement

Forterra's mission is to act with immediacy to protect, enhance and steward our region's most precious resources--its communities and its landscapes. Since 1989, we have been working toward a future in which our children and grandchildren can experience nature in and around our urban environments.

Description

Forterra conserves land by working with individuals, companies and local governments. We strive to maximize the ecological value of land, while meeting the needs of landowners. We may accept land as a donation, purchase it, or transfer it to public ownership. We often serve as a broker to identify and negotiate the most effective ownership to protect important lands. We establish conservation easements to preserve special features. For each and every property, we explore available strategies or create new ones to provide permanent protection. Forterra has established a Conservation Agenda for our region, with specific priorities and methods for each type of landscape. Current initiatives include the protection of working forests on the foothills of the Cascades, and the creation of salmon sanctuaries along our region's highest quality rivers and streams.
