Esperanza NY

Esperanza is dedicated to keeping young people at home with their families. We work to safely reduce reliance on out-of-home placement for court-involved youth by offering a community-based alternative to incarceration throughout the five boroughs of New York City. Esperanza began delivering direct services in 2002 and currently serves young people who are prosecuted in Family Court as well as youth who are being prosecuted as adults in Supreme/Criminal Court. Our home-based, direct-service program includes up to six months of intensive therapy for youth and their families, as well as case and crisis management. Towards the end of this period, some of our participants are matched with mentors for a period of time to further support the work they have done while in Esperanza.

Esperanza NY, Inc. is looking for individuals to mentor youth. Interested applicants must have a passion for working with young people and the ability to build positive relationships with them. This is a volunteer opportunity.
