Volunteers participate in running the Late Start Wednesday activity program at ECAC. Tasks include helping our teacher set up and put away art and craft activities, assisting students with their projects, and ensuring all participants arrive at their school bus stops on time.
On Late Start Wednesdays, Lansing Schools open two hours later than normal. ECAC hosts arts-oriented enrichment activities for children to provide a safe and educational space for children to spend their Wednesday mornings.
For student-volunteers interested in a degree in education, serving as a Late Start Wednesday Volunteer is a great way to get hands-on experience working with elementary-aged children in a classroom-type environment led by an experienced educator.
Above all, Late Start Wednesday Volunteers make a difference in the daily lives of children by bringing compassion, commitment, and patience to the Center every Wednesday morning. If this sounds like you, then you are just who we are looking for!
Program runs 8:00am to 10:30am, every Wednesday. For more details, visit: http://www.lansingschools.net/parents/late-start-wednesdays/
