Opportunity Overview
Revived as the site of a Community Supported Agriculture program, Powisset Farm in Dover, Massachusetts features a trail that explores woodlands, fields, and wetlands. Currently, The Trustees is seeking committed Farm Educators who would like to share their knowledge with our visitors. This position is primarily designed to assist us with our special needs educational program held on Wednesdays, July 5, 2017 - August 9, 2017 between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. The ideal candidates will have an interest in education, the environment, farming and nutrition. Prior experience working with the special needs population is preferred, but not required.

This position will require an in-person interview.

* Support farm staff in facilitating tasks such as planting, weeding, harvesting
* Work independently or as a team with other volunteers and staff
* Educate visitors about The Trustees and Powisset Farm
* Occasionally lead small programs or hikes with guests
* Log volunteer hours

* Interest in talking to and working in an educational environment
* Friendly and polite demeanor
* Background in teaching or environmental studies a plus
* Ability to walk on a variety of surfaces including grass or uneven surfaces
* Minimum age: 16 years old

Time Commitment
We ask for a six week commitment, July 5 - August 9, 2017, 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
