ORGANIZATION: TEAM WETHRIVE INC

  • 3 people are interested

WeThrive is looking for college students who are hungry for a changemaking role in their local community. WeThrive Mentors walk middle school students through the creation of business ventures where they sell products and services and, most importantly, learn valuable life skills such as public speaking, habit adoption, creating a vision, and goal setting strategies. The time commitment is 90 minutes/week and mentors are trained before entering the classroom and provided with ongoing coaching to ensure success.
This is a great opportunity for anyone looking for a hands-on role that impacts the local community while gaining a unique entrepreneurial and leadership training experience.

Mission Statement

By creating a supportive environment that encourages relationship building, learning, planning, and financial achievement, WeThrive instills the drive and motivation needed to set ambitious personal and economic goals. Through programming designed to build skills, confidence, and support networks, participants are also provided with the ability to make decisions and take actions aimed at achieving those goals.

Description

WeThrive is a program in which undergraduate university students lead youth from under- resourced communities in the creation of a business venture, mentoring them and teaching them critical life skills along the way. In this year-long program, youth participants create their own ventures from start to finish, earning revenues, and donating all profits to charity. Most importantly, they learn essential life skills and adopt habits that will allow them to achieve their personal goals and definitions of success.
