Our goals: 1) Lift the hearts & spirits of those needing emotional support; 2) expand the minds & futures of children through literacy; 3) support a patient’s physical, speech, or occupational therapy goals; 4) promote the healing power of animals; 5) support & promote greyhound & pet rescue; 6) prove rescues have value & can contribute positively to their communities.

Description

Helping Paws therapy dogs teams work in a wide variety of healthcare facilities, including hospice, home health, nursing & rehab facilities, special needs camps, women & child support centers, etc

Helping Paws' B.A.R.K.S /™ (Bonding Animals, Reading, Kids, & Safety) is a fun & inspiring, all inclusive dog-based, literacy curriculum for children and adults of all skill levels including autism & brain injuries. B.A.R.K.S., the 2nd oldest dog reading program in the country, provides a safe haven from peer pressure, reading fun, help with inter-personal communication skills. Children in B.A.R.K.S. increase their reading scores, improve in other courses & class interactions, while also learning pet safety & the humane & ethical treatment of pets and animals

1) New: Helping Paws G.O.O.D. (Gem of Obedience Dog) Class, Test, & Certification Trains & Tests for good Public Behavior

2) AKC-Canine Good Citizen Class, Test & Certificate ( www.akc.org )

3) Helping Paws Therapy Animal Class, Test, & Certification

4) B.A.R.K.S. Book Buddies Literacy-Assistance Animal Class, Test, & Certification

5) Assistance and/or PTSD Dog Training, Test, & Certification (limited program)

6) Dog Safety Presentations

7) Treating Animals Humanely Presentations

8) Rescue Group Volunteer & New Owner Training: Basic Obedience, Dog Body Language, & New Dog Introductions

9) Animal Behavioral Consulting
