SVEF is excited to offer a unique opportunity for your employees to inspire and mentor our students. By supplying volunteers to lead a STEM workshop during the summer, your company will provide an enriching experience for a deserving group of students, while at the same time fostering the volunteer spirit of your employees.
Career Inspiration Workshop
Who: Volunteer individually or in a team of 2-3
What: Run a 60 minute workshop
Where: Any of our 45+ Bay Area district partners
When: In June or July ~1 hour between 8:00am-12:00pm, Monday-Friday
Connect math to the real-world by speaking to the class on the importance of STEM in your career and everyday life.
Inspire the students by bringing an artifact or project they can engage with related to your profession or passion (e.g. a demo of a project you worked on, an example of one of your products, an interactive STEM workshop related to your job, etc)
Option to lead the class in one of our pre-planned STEM Workshops.
Elevate [Math] runs at school sites throughout the Bay Area and classes generally run weekdays from 8AM - 12PM, mid-June to early-August. STEM Workshops are scheduled based on volunteer and teacher preference.
