Every night upto 15 men and women leave Joseph's House & Shelter, with a staff person, to walk to a local church hall where they sleep, so making more space at our crowded year-round shelter. We always have at least one volunteer, but preferably two, join the group at the church site, to sleep over nght with staff as assistants. Arriving at 9:30pm volunteers get to help guests with beds and snacks, play games or chat with the guests until ights out at 11pm. Every gets up at around 6:30pm, stores bedding and guests leave for breakfast and showers at the shelter and volunteers and staff go on with their day. This important program is in its 9th year and has helped us keep hundreds of people off the streets in the colde rmonths. Please contact us to learn more and to attend an orientation. Vvolunteers are credited with 10 hours of volunteering - but hopefully get to sleep through much of that! Bedding is provided or bring a sleeping bag. Beds are folding roll away type.
