Chatsworth High and Junior Achievement are partnering to bring the very important topic of Personal Finance to its students. This is a great opportunity if you would like to work with students but want to start with a small class size (less than 12). All lessons and training are provided by Junior Achievement, and the teacher will be in the classroom at all times to offer support. The commitment is one, hour-long class a week for five weeks, beginning the week of February 13th. A small commitment with a large impact!

Mission Statement

To educate and inspire young people to value free enterprise, business and economics in order to improve the quality of their lives.

Description

Junior Achievement of Southern California is a non-profit organization whose mission is to inspire and prepare young people to succeed in a global economy. Our three pillars of success: entrepreneurship, financial literacy and work readiness, are helping prepare young people for the real world by showing the economic relevance of staying in school, building self-confidence, and inspiring them to dream big for their futures.

At JA Finance Park, students are given a unique life profile after answering a series of future lifestyle questions. Their life profile includes an income, marital status, even kids! Using this new adult persona, students work to create a balanced monthly budget while making decision regarding housing, transportation, insurance, savings, entertainment expenses and much more.
