Packages from Home Overview
Packages From Home is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization whose mission is to send care and comfort packages to deployed American military heroes stationed in active duty theaters around the world, as well as to facilitate activities that elevate morale of all veterans. Packages From Home has three programs to serve our brave past and present heroes charged with preserving and protecting our freedoms:
Packages From Home
Supporting our currently deployed service men and women.
Packages For Hope
Aiding veterans who are in transition, homeless, or at risk of becoming homeless.
Bones From Home
Caring for military working dogs and veteran service Canines.
Show our military heroes you appreciate them by being a hero yourself. It doesn’t take much to impact a military person’s life. Everyday items we take for granted can affect a soldier’s performance and morale.
Position Description
The internship position will involve working in the with Aaron our Operations Manager. You will be helping take in donations and get them sorted. On the days that we have packing party you will be working with Aaron to help get the groups set up packing boxes and answering any questions the packing group may have. You are main job is to help keep the warehouse organized and running well. Most of all you will be helping Aaron get done the tasks he finds to be crucial to get done that day. At packages from Home we try to make position has fun as we can with still keeping it professional. Also we hope to help you build skill and memories that will last a lifetime as well as look great on your resume
Need valid drivers license
Be a nonprofit major or a veteran
Must be interested in Veterans affairs
You need to be able to lift 50 pounds
Need a good working vehicle for doing pickups
Must be able to work well in groups
You needs to be outgoing
Good with computers
Wednesday and Friday work days all day

Mission Statement
The mission of Packages From Home is to send care and comfort packages to deployed American military heroes who are stationed in active duty theaters around the world, as well as to facilitate activities that elevate morale of all veterans.
Description
PFH collects donated items from generous patriotic citizens, corporations and community
groups from all across America to create care packages for deployed military heroes. The items collected
include non-perishable food, personal toiletries and recreational items. PFH sends two completely full
flat-rate USPS boxes containing food and hygiene items to each service-person entered into our system. Each
package is hand-packed by our volunteers, who include Scout Troops, school students, corporate employees
and many long term volunteers. Larger packages of specialty items - books, movies, sports equipment,
playing cards, etc. - are sent to be shared at recreation centers on the military bases.
Monetary donations from individuals, corporations and community groups are utilized to cover the postage
for each package. Postage is the largest expense for PFH, with each package costing $14.85 to mail. PFH's
primary purpose is to provide food, personal care and recreational items to deployed American troops, at no
cost to them.
In 2012, Packages From Home expanded our program and volunteers began to fill Packages For Hope for our
veterans in need. With this addition PFH is now able to supply tangible necessities and hygiene items to
veterans who are homeless, or in jeopardy of becoming homeless. Also PFH has started Bone from Home which inteal sending care packages to the Millitary working dogs.
