These volunteers are essential to CARE's rescue/adoption effort, both for adoptable pets in foster homes and in the Paws in Prison program. Caseworkers receive and review adoption applications and work closely with CARE staff and the foster family or Paws-in-Prison team to match potential adopters with the most appropriate adoptable pet. This special volunteer opportunity offers the chance to experience the incredibly rewarding process of helping a homeless pet find his or her "forever home!"

Caseworking basically involves reviewing applications for adoptable dogs, responding to potential applicants, communicating with fosters, doing home visits, attending some Saturday Showings, and ultimately selecting who the dog will go to. A lot of it can be done over email, but there is some facetime required. We like caseworks to attend around one Saturday showing every month. We also like caseworkers to be there for meet and greets they set up, but staff and other caseworkers can always help with those.
