Neighborhood House is seeking one or more coaches for our Lego League Team!

It’s never too early to discover STEM. FIRST LEGO League Jr. is designed to introduce STEM concepts to kids ages 6 to 10 while exciting them through a brand they know and love − LEGO(r).

The team meets weekly here at Neighborhood House. Meetings will take place preferably on Tuesdays or Wednesdays from 4:15-5:15pm; however, if you prefer a different weekday we can adjust our schedule. The team will consist of about 12 kids total who are between 6 and 8 years old.

Coaches can be individuals from all backgrounds and disciplines who work with students to share their knowledge and guide them through the season.

Responsibilities include:

■ Facilitates meetings and helps team to orchestrate the work ■ Assists the team in following Challenge instructions and guidelines ■ Support the learning process, while allowing team members to make critical decisions through the building and poster development processes ■ Desire to work with students 6-10 years of age.

Volunteers for this position will be given an introduction to the team and it's activities in the past. The team has already started meeting with the guidance of our School-Age Coordinator. We need a coach to take over ASAP!
