Discovery Place Science is opening a new THINKER SPACE Lab and we need adult volunteers who like designing and making things.
Our brand new Thinker Space will open in February on Level Three of the museum. This space will give guests of all ages the opportunity to try tools, materials, and techniques of all kinds, including hammers, wrenches, and sewing machines all the way up to coding, 3D printers and laser cutters! No experience is necessary, but we would love to have experienced makers or volunteers with a creative side to help guests create fantastic things. Volunteers are needed for daily operational duties in the space as well as for workshops, classes and homeschool and outreach programs. We will train volunteers on best practices as well as on all applicable equipment.
