Thanks for considering volunteering with Alacare! This opportunity is a great way to give back to people in the Cullman area. Our Caregiver Relief Volunteers are trained and are able to provide caregiver relief to patients caregivers. Our Caregiver Relief Volunteers give caregivers of our patients the opportunity to go run errands, go to the doctor, or other daily tasks that have become difficult due to the demand of being a caregiver at home.

We are seeking compassionate people who want to help families of those in the surrounding community. This volunteer will not be required to visit with patients by themselve until they are comfortable and feel they are up to the task.

Description

At Encompass Health we foster a culture of compassion and collaboration encouraging and empowering each employee and volunteer to keep learning and growing together. Our compassionate end-of-life care is provided in the patient’s home, whether that is a home address, nursing home, assisted living community, independent living community or other location. It focuses on the physical, spiritual and emotional needs of both the individual patient and our patients’ loved ones: caregivers, spouses, children, extended family and friends.

Our experienced team understands the complexity of issues and feelings that surround hospice care and end of life. Our care process is designed to maximize our patient’s quality of life and offer our patients and their love ones comfort, support and guidance when facing a terminal illness

Our Goal is to provide a sense of dignity and peace for our patients, while controlling pain, minimizing discomfort and managing symptoms. We also prioritize emotional and spiritual needs, guiding our patients and their loved one through the end-of-life process.
