The goal of a volunteer at Flance Early Learning Center is to help support the children at Flance in their growth and development in a variety of ways, including front desk/office support.
An office support volunteer can assist in the filing of paperwork, answering the phone, greeting families, and organizing documents. This volunteer will assist and learn a lot about the day-to-day management of an early childcare center. This is a great opportunity for someone wanting to learn about the administrative side of childcare/education.
All volunteers are a vehicle to help provide the LUME 'spheres': psychodynamic, early literacy & language, and values & character.

Mission Statement
Flance Early Learning Center is committed to providing innovative, quality care and education to a racially, culturally, developmentally, and socio-economically diverse population of children between the ages of six weeks and six years in a nurturing environment that provides supportive services to families.
Description
The Flance Early Learning Center's primary goal is to ensure that all of the pre-school age children we serve are not only academically prepared for Kindergarten, but have the social and emotional foundation to succeed in elementary school, and are physically healthy upon entering elementary school. An essential component of the Flance Center is diverse socioeconomic enrollment. Research shows that placing children from a diverse mix of incomes in the same classroom at an early age leads to above-average performance for all children, particularly those from low-income families (who would otherwise be at risk for below-average performance).
A secondary goal of The Flance Early Learning Center is to break the cycle of poverty by providing a comprehensive early childhood learning experience that is supported by innovative family, health, and community programs. As a result, children grow up to achieve economic success so that their own children are not born into poverty.
