The Princess Project Los Angeles is in its first year as a Princess Project non-profit location and we are recruiting for our Leadership Board. We are actively seeking a Site and Staging Chair for our Los Angeles leadership board for a minimum 2-year commitment. The Site and Staging Chair can be supported by two people (Co-Chairs) and has the following responsibilities:

  • Works with Community Liaisons to secure enough dress giveaway physical sites to support our communities’ needs
  • Develops, organizes, and documents all aspects of each physical site for each year
  • Creates comprehensive schedule for site(s) from first day to move out
  • Secures giveaway spaces
  • Works with Community Liaisons to arrange utilities and services for space (i.e. water, power, garbage collection)
  • Serves as escalation point for site and site-related issues
  • Trains community liaisons on how to maintain a clean, orderly, and safe site space
  • Hires and manages security staff during giveaways
  • Develops, documents and trains community liaisons on all aspects of staging the site (working with the leadership team and directly with the Volunteer Coordinator), including developing the floor plan and layout, look/feel based on theme and cleanup post giveaways
  • Coordinates outreach to vendors for donations of staging and decoration materials (e.g. tables, chairs, linens, fabrics, decorations, flowers, balloons, dressing room d├ęcor, etc.)
  • Hospitality responsibilities (as denoted under Hospitality)
  • Manage site and staging volunteers

The time committment for this role during these formative years varies per month but averages 10-15 hours a month except during prom season (March-May) where an additional one to three weekends of time may be needed at various dress giveaway events. Each year, we have a three day planning meeting for the upcoming year in July that is required for all board members.
