Adult Facilitator:Co-facilitate small group sessions. Each adult facilitator will be responsible for 10-12 middle school students throughout the event and paired with a teen facilitator. Adult facilitators for Snowflake must be at least 18 years old. All facilitators will be required to attend one facilitator training on Wednesday, February 15 th OR Thursday, February 16 th from 5 to 8 pm at Chute Middle School and the entire Snowflake event on Friday, February 24 th, from 3 - 9:30pm at Chute Middle School . Facilitators must also have an interest in working with middle school students.

PEER Services reduces the harms of substance use, addiction and stigma by engaging youth and adults with innovative prevention programming and by supporting people on their path to recovery through holistic, evidence-based treatment. We provide affirming services to all in need, regardless of their income or insurance status.

Description

PEER Services is a community-based nonprofit provider of substance use prevention and outpatient treatment services for youth and adults in the northern suburbs and north side of Chicago. Our Prevention program includes information campaigns and workshops in middle and high schools, parent education, and community-based strategies, all aimed at providing accurate information and fostering health decision-making skills in youth. Our treatment services include Early Intervention Counseling for adolescents who using alcohol or drugs; Adolescent Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Counseling for adolescents diagnosed with a substance use disorder; Adult SUD Counseling; DUI Risk Education; Medication-Assisted Recovery for adults with opioid use disorders; and Art Therapy.

PEER accepts all clients in need of treatment, regardless of their income or insurance status. Over 90% of our treatment clients are low-income individuals who rely on PEER for affordable treatment.
