Project: VISION is a small grassroots organization located in the Chinatown/Bridgeport community on the near south side of Chicago. We provide free after school programs such as tutoring, college application help, and community service projects to youth ages 12-18.

Since 2004, we've served over 700 community youth, but want to reach out to even more! To accomplish this, we are working to grow our Board of Directors. In particular, we are looking for a committed individual who is passionate about youth development and our community to take over the treasurer position on the Board of Directors and help us grow our organization overall!

Useful experience/skills/traits include: professional experience (9+ years), background in accounting and/or finance (CPA desired), some board experience, project management, fundraising, marketing, networking, team player with outgoing personality.

In addition to general Board member responsibilities, the Board treasurer leads the Board in providing financial oversight and stewardship to safeguard organizational resources, ensure financial solvency and public accountability. The treasurer leads the monthly finance and budget performance discussions and leads finance committee and annual budget development discussions.

Time commitment varies, but typical board members spend an estimated 15-20 hours per month (including board meetings, committee meetings, events, etc.).
