Establish a personal relationship with the patient and family. Provide Companionship and support to patient and family, Provide relief care for family members. Assist with shopping and errands needs. Assist with light housekeeping and meal preparations. May provide bereavement support. Some of our patients do not have family near by nor even someone to spend time, and as a volunteer it gets you the opportunity to make a difference in someones life, especially when they may have a couple of months before the pass.
We also need some help in the office with clerical work if possible, if you dont feel comfortable yet in visiting patients. This is a great opportunity to engage with Hospice staff and also understand our agency.

Description
Companion Hospice provides physical, emotional and spiritual support for terminally ill patients and their families. With the help of the volunteers-- patients and family members can spend the remaining time living with the dignity and respect all people deserve.
