Montauk Observatory is looking for volunteers to assist with all aspects of this organization, from events planning and public relations, to administration and fundraising, to networking with area schools and science teachers, to construction and engineering, dome and telescope maintenance, and more. We are in need of someone to help automate our observatory to make it accessible via the internet. And we need a webmaster who can expand and update our website, and help us stream (or at least create a video archive) our events.

Mission Statement
Montauk Observatory was established in 2005 for the purpose of fostering interest in science and astronomy on the south fork of Long Island.
Description
We hold lectures and other educational programs throughout the year in all the east end towns. We have an astronomical observatory (located in East Hampton, and a 20" research-grade telescope, which will be automated to provide remote access (via the internet) to students, teachers, researchers and the general public. We also hold cultural events that demonstrate the symbiotic relationship between science and the arts.
