Help us fill important volunteer positions on our EBZEF team!
A little effort can go a long way with EBZEF. Many options exist to help. Working with EBZEF is an uplifting experience which helps Zambian women to achieve an education and a village to work toward literacy. Currently, we are partnered with World Vision USA, working to build a secondary school to achieve the community's dream of sustainable education. We want you to have a full return on your investment of support and encouragement!
EBZEF meetings are generally held in Salem, Oregon, but we do much of our work by email and phone.
Possible Opportunities: Social media consulting, fundraising, public relations, grant writing, organizational, and Newsletter editing. Learn more about EBZEF on our website at www.ebzef.org or at www.guidestar.org.

About EBZEF:
With the loss of Beth Bowers, an aquaculture Peace Corps Volunteer in the remote rural village of Lumwana West in NW Zambia, in a bicycle accident in 2002, the Elizabeth Bowers Zambia Education Fund (EBZEF) was born. EBZEF’s scholarship for girls has sent 300+ "Beth’s Girls," a name they call themselves, to secondary school. Twenty + girls on EBZEF scholarships have graduated from or are engaged in college/vocational education programs.
The Elizabeth Bowers Memorial Library, a Peace Corps Partnership Program completed in 2009, including 18,000 books, is the largest library in the NW Province. EBZEF supplied solar panels for the Library, bringing light and electricity to the community. EBZEF has also initiated a thriving pre-school and is building 3 classrooms to accommodate the youngest learners.
EBZEF currently partners with World Vision to build a secondary school. Phase I construction nears completion, with 2 teachers’ houses, 2 three-classroom blocks, plus an ablution block (lavatory) for boys. Phases II and III are in the planning stages. The success of this project will fulfill EBZEF’s dream to educate the "whole girl," from pre-school through secondary school and college!
