The CDA Walk to Defeat ALS is a regional fundraiser and opportunity to bring hope to people living with ALS, to raise money for a cure, and to come together for something you care about. The Walk to Defeat ALS(r) is The ALS Association’s biggest annual event, which raises funds that allow our local chapters to sustain care services and support research for much of the next year.
Our committee members help plan the event and execute the day of event activities plus a Walk kick off party 6 weeks before the Walk.
We meet once a month for an hour until 2 months before the event. We usually meet 3-4 times during those 2 months. In most cases, committee members only need to put in 4-6 hours monthly (including the committee meeting) to aid in the promotion and event planning.
It is helpful if you have had previous experience with event planning but not necessary.
