Are you an early bird who loves being outdoors? Do you enjoy feeding your backyard birds? As a Neighborhood Nest Watch volunteer, you will assist National Aviary field researchers with finding and assessing eight common backyard bird species. Field researchers require assistance with setting up the mist nets, and recording data on captured birds and banding information. Share your passion for backyard birds with the families involved in this Citizen Science project.
This volunteer opportunity will occur nearly every day of the week from May 10-August 1, 2017. Volunteer must commit to the full six hour banding session and participate at least once a week. Because the project occurs in private homes within a 50 mile radius of Pittsburgh, it is essential that the volunteer has their own, reliable transportation.
