The American Cancer Society’s Relay For Life is a life-changing experience that gives everyone in communities across northwest Franklin County the opportunity to come together to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease.
Food, family fun, and entertainment accompany our day-long team fundraising and casual walking event to be held at John Sells Middle School on May 6, 2017.
We are looking for awesome volunteers to help us in various time slots throughout the day! Positions include set-up, tear-down, luminaria bag placement around the track, registration, helping our survivors feel like kings and queens, and more!
OR, you are invited to grab a few friends, family members, or coworkers, join or create a team, and participate in our fundraising! There is no minimum fundraising requirement to participate!
To create a team or register as an individual, please visit www.RelayForLife.org/NWFranklinCounty today!
If you are interested in volunteering for a time slot, please reply to Alex for more details about the event and what is available. This opportunity is perfect for those whose lives have been touched in some way by cancer or for those who are just looking to get out for a few hours and give back to the Dublin/Hilliard/UA/Bethel/Grandview communities! ANY age is welcome!

Mission Statement
Relay For Life is the American Cancer Society's signature community fundraising event that brings people of all walks of life together to celebrate survivors, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against cancer.
Description
Relay For Life is a community gathering rather than an athletic event, so anyone and everyone can participate. It offers everyone in the community a chance to participate in the fight against cancer. Teams of people camp out at a local high school, park or fairground and take turns walking or running around a track or path. Each team is asked to have a representative on the track at all times during the event. Relays are overnight events, usually ranging from 18 to 24 hours in length. Friends, relatives, local businesses, hospitals, schools, churches, and other organizations form teams with 8-15 people.
Relay For Life opens with cancer survivors taking a ceremonial first lap. Cancer survivors from all over the community are encouraged to join us in a celebration of their victory. This is an emotional time and sets the stage for the importance of each participant's contribution.
The luminary ceremony is another highlight of the event. This ceremony is held after dark to honor cancer survivors and to remember those we have lost to cancer. These luminaries line the track and are left burning throughout the night to remind participants of the incredible importance of their contribution.
Relay For Life provides live entertainment, contests, karaoke, children's games, and more! Teams bring tents, food, games, coolers, and supplies needed to enjoy a party with a purpose.
