It is no secret that friendships bring us joy. For elderly individuals, you can make a real difference in their lives. Typically, later in life, one loses those who are close, spouses, friends, relative and even sometimes childen. This can feel very lonely and create depression. When you take an interest in an elderly person, it can lift them to new heights and give them a renewed sense of purpose.
You will be talking with them about many subjects, discussing memories of the past, and sharing experiences. You can take a walk or share a snack.

Following the example of Catherine McAuley in her love and concern for the elderly, Mercy McMahon Terrace, as a licensed Facility, sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy of Auburn, exists to express the compassion of Christ by providing quality housing and services to the elderly. We enhance the dignity of the residents’ lives by creating an environment with three levels of support that foster growth and healing, striving to promote their independence and autonomy. We will provide our services to the residents and their families, our staff and volunteers, in a caring and responsible manner. We will work together as a team, recognizing the importance of each person’s contributions uniting our personal and professional talents and resources to provide the highest quality of care in a warm and caring environment. Mercy McMahon Terrace is more than just a place to rest - it is a place to live fully for our seniors. We have activities for our seniors to keep them active and happy. While our residents spend their day enjoying the company of others in activities coordinated just for them, our staff is busy taking care of the details, providing peace of mind not only to our residents, but to their families as well.
By providing quality care services through our assisted living program, along with the
maintenance-free lifestyle available with independent living, residents at Mercy McMahon Terrace are freed up to focus their energy on living their life to the fullest. This means that each resident is able to enjoy a better quality of life than if they were to stay at home alone.
