ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross / Northwest Region

Raid Cross Simulation Assistant

PURPOSE

Assist Raid Cross facilitator in educating youth and adults in your community on International Humanitarian Law (IHL).

Raid Cross is an experiential learning activity, most often used to engage youth, that utilizes simulations to educate participants in IHL.

  • Assist in preparation and running of Raid Cross simulation
  • Become familiar with Raid Cross activity posts
  • Collect and report pre and post simulation survey information

TIME COMMITMENT

Dependent on frequency of Raid Cross events.
Raid Cross is an 4-6 hour event, and time is required to prepare the activities.

QUALIFICATIONS

* Strong interest in learning about International Humanitarian Law.
* Desire to share the Red Cross fundamental principles and values.
* Capability to partner, communicate, and coordinate with various stakeholders.
* Strong interest in working with young people, valuing their diversity and allowing them to explore IHL through Raid Cross.

REQUIRED TRAINING

* Orientation to the American Red Cross
* Raid Cross Facilitator's Manual
