Would you like to personally have a hand in positive change? Do you want to make a significant impact in the life of a young person? If so, the Department of Juvenile Justice has a wonderful volunteer opportunity for you! Positive role models are needed to provide mentoring to young men behind the fence at DJJ. If you are a caring adult who is willing to be a positive role model and instill hope in young men in our community please respond! Mentors spend one hour a week with their mentee playing cards, games, or just talking one-on-one. Be appreciated, make a difference in the life of a child, be a DJJ mentor!

It is the mission of the South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) to protect the public and reclaim juveniles through prevention, community services, education, and rehabilitative services in the least restrictive environment.
Description
At DJJ we believe change is possible! The South Carolina Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ) is a state cabinet agency, and by law, it is also a treatment and rehabilitative agency for the state's juveniles.
DJJ is responsible for providing custodial care and rehabilitation for the state’s children who are incarcerated, on probation or parole, or in community placement for a criminal or status offense.
Our goal at DJJ is to protect the public and reclaim juveniles through prevention, community programs, education, and rehabilitative services in the least restrictive environment possible. Volunteers who desire to empower youth for the future and want to make a difference in the lives of children are needed to support the organization's mission.
