Do you love children and love to garden? Then this opportunity is for you. East Bay Agency for Children operates a Therapeutic Nursery School for up to 20 children who exhibit emotional and behavioral challenges that require specialized intervention services. Our school provides these children with counseling and skill building so they can ultimately enter a traditional kindergarten program. Our facility has a newly refurbished raised bed 10x10 ft garden that needs regular attending from a loving volunteer who could also help engage the supervised children in gardening activities. We're looking for someone to spend 2 hours twice a month in our garden.

Mission Statement
East Bay Agency for Children improves the well-being of children, youth and families by reducing the impact of trauma and social inequities.
Description
Healthy conditions are not distributed equally across our communities. Poverty, racism, and policies and laws that don’t support all families create barriers to wellness for many Bay Area families. East Bay Agency for Children’s (EBAC) mission is to improve the well-being of children, youth, and families by reducing the impact of trauma and social inequities.
EBAC’s transformational programs help children, youth, and families recover from trauma; build upon existing resilience to protect against long-term harm from past or future exposure to adversity; and when possible, prevent exposure to adverse childhood experiences.
Guided by a trauma-informed approach and learnings from its system transformation program Trauma Transformed, EBAC’s eight distinct, direct service programs include two counseling programs; a therapeutic nursery school; five Family Resource Centers; a health and wellness center, and grief support, afterschool, and youth empowerment programs.
