It's flexible! We'll work with your schedule.

2607 West 22nd St.Suite 40Oak Brook, IL 60523

Special Service Hospice Volunteers are those who choose to work from home, providing all types of crafting and life legacy projects.

Projects available include: Wheelchair Lap Blankets, Prayer Shawls, Memory Pillows, Bereavement Wallets, Small Quilts, Scarves, or Adult Bibs. Life Legacy projects might include Memory DVD production, assistance with Photo Albums, Memory Journals or Art Projects. We are only limited by your creativity! If you have a skill or a craft you would like to share, we would love to explore that with you. Nothing says love more than a handmade gift from a volunteer. Materials can be cotton, knits or fleece. Projects can be knitted, chochet or sewn.

Becoming a Special Service Volunteer and participating in our Hands To Hearts Program is simple! An application, interview, confidentiality agreement and photo is all that is required. Volunteers wishing to work directly with patients with Art Projects or Memory Stimulation Projects would be trained in Direct Care and comply with mandated Medicare compliances.

If you are crafty and looking to keep your hands and heart busy, please consider us. Our Volunteer Services Manager would love to talk with you!
