The Carter Burden Luncheon Club & Senior Program is looking for Health & Wellness volunteers to give brief talks or educational workshops on health and wellness topics to an audience of 25 to 35 seniors.
Duties:
Volunteers will provide education on health and wellness topics to seniors. This education can take the form of a lecture or presentation, a small discussion group, individual screenings or consultations, or any other format conducive to delivering this content. - Be aware of the specific health needs of seniors, and able to answer seniors’ questions about the topic on which they will be presenting
Location/ schedule:
- The Carter Burden Luncheon Club & Senior Program, 351 East 74 th Street (Upper East Side)
- The center is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm and the most successful times for presentations tend to be from 11am to 12pm or 1pm to 2pm
- One-time opportunity or recurring commitment, depending on volunteer availability and interest
- Start date: asap or depending on availability
Benefits:
- Ideal opportunity for students interested in public health, aging services, nutrition, nursing and related fields
