The Volunteer Engagement Assistant will assist NVFS in our headquarters office in Oakton, VA by:

-supporting volunteer engagement including posting volunteer needs, targeted recruitment, reviewing and updating position descriptions, screening and reviewing applications and paperwork, entering program data, etc.

-assisting with the coordination of drives including recording donation and/or client data, compiling reports, and coordinating volunteers

-and providing planning and logistical support for fundraising events including preparing materials, entering data, compiling reports, event marketing, etc.

Qualifications needed include strong written and verbal communication skills, interest in nonprofit management, fundraising, events, communications and/or volunteer engagement, an ability to take initiative and also to work well within a team, and experience and ability working with database systems (significant data entry and database inputting are required).
