Did you know that 49% of our participants spend lass than $125/month on groceries and that 76% of all participants receive food bank groceries at their center on a monthy basis? Volunteer today to make a difference in the lives of others!
The Como Activity & Wellness Center is looking for volunteers to help participants of the center with their food bank items on Mondays, Tuesday, Thursdays, and Fridays from 11:00 AM to about 11:45 AM. Volunteers will need to use their own vehicle to help pick up food from a local grocery store near the center and take it back to the Como center. This/these volunteer(s) would assist in sorting and setting up food on the table, distributing the food out to participants that come to the senior center, take the grocery bags to their cars and also they help keep the distribution running smoothly. Volunteers may help with one or up to all four days of the week. Contact Gloria Kuykendall at Senior Citizen Services at 817-413-4949 ext 211 for more information.
