Volunteers play a crucial role in disaster response efforts by offering basic needs to those who may have lost everything. As a response team member you’ll assist by responding to emergency scenes to effectively and efficiently provide physical and/or emotional assistance to emergency workers and disaster victims.

Tasks include:

  • Taking inventory of emergency supplies
  • Stocking emergency vehicles
  • Preparing and serving snacks and meals at disaster location
  • Assessing need of victims


  • Be at least 18 years old
  • Undergo a background check
  • Open to getting an Oregon Food Handler's Card or in possession of a Food Manager Training Certificate
  • Able to respond to an emergency at a moment's notice in the Douglas County, Oregon
  • Be available for a least 8 consecutive hours before being relieve by another team
