This is an opportunity with the Language Services department of the Kansas City Public School District. We cater to refugees and other non-English speaking immigrants within the KC school district, and we are currenyly looking for volunteers for our upcoming Parent-Teacher conference. We need bilingual volunteers (check out the list of languages needed below (including Somali)) who might be interested in working in our phone bank in order to help trannslate to some of the parents participating in the conference.

Description
The Department of Language Services is dedicated to serving the needs of English language learners. We support the District in providing English language learners (ELLs) with the full range of learning opportunities equivalent to those provided to native speakers of English. We are also committed to providing our English learners access to high quality K-12 educational programs designed to ensure they acquire full proficiency in English as rapidly and effectively as possible, in order to meet or exceed grade level standards for academic achievement in a timely manner.
