Marion County is asking for applications to fill a vacant position on the budget committee. The budget committee consists of three citizen members and the three county commissioners, who together set the recommended budgets for all the county departments, operations and capital improvements.
Citizen members are appointed for three-year terms. Applicants must be citizens at least 18 years old who live and are eligible to vote in Marion County. County employees are not permitted to serve on this committee.
The budget committee meets quarterly, convening for two days in May or June for detailed, day-long work sessions with departmental representatives, public hearings and approval of a budget to recommend to the Board of Commissioners for formal adoption.
Applications should be submitted by 5 p.m. Friday January 27 th .
