ORGANIZATION: Grace Episcopal Church Jamaica

Grace Episcopal Church of Jamaica is currently focusing efforts on a program to empower the Youth within the Jamaica Queens environment. The program will include initiatives that will play a supporting role in upskilling inner city youths, and will prepare them for a successful and productive future.

The youth empowerment program will include leadership & financial education workshops, career talks, health and wellness seminars, skill building workshops, and a scholarship program.

The Church is currently looking for a Program Director to assist church members in developing the program framework, operations plan and overseeing/supporting the youth empowerment committee.

Description

Grace Episcopal Church, Jamaica, founded in 1702 by the Society for the Propagation of the Gospel in Foreign Parts of the Anglican Church, is the first church organized in what is now the Episcopal Diocese of Long Island. It is the second-oldest Episcopal church in the state of New York and is considered the "mother church" of the Episcopal churches in the town of Jamaica.
