Some of our homeless guests are newly housed and need some support to maintain their lives within the community. In conjunction with the Housing First Specialist, the volunteer will aid in providing direcet service to guests. It is our vision that each guest would be matched to a specific volunteer, develop a long term relationship and begin to get a sense of community within Concord.

Our guests may need assistance with transportation to and from medical appointments, support and guidance with state and local agencies, transportation to local food banks, and grocery stores, as well as, building a social network with members from the non-homeless community.

Description

Assistance with Dignity
The Concord Homeless Resource Center is a program of the Concord Coalition to End Homelessness. Since December 2008, the Resource Center has sought to help guests who are currently homeless, or in imminent danger of becoming homeless, discover and connect with resources that are available to them.
Emergency Winter Shelter: Due to the pandemic, we were able to move shelter operations to a new, larger site at the former First Church. The shelter will open December 1, 2021 for the winter season. It is a place for adult individuals with no other options to be safe, warm and dry for the night during the winter season.
