About ROBS BARBERSHOP COMMUNITY FOUNDATION INC

Location:

2005 TEA ISLAND CT, ODENTON, MD 21113, US

Mission Statement

To provide comprehensive management to donors whose desire is support projects that improve the grooming, hygiene and well-being of populations who lack access to regular personal care products and services.

Description

What we do: Our methodology consists of installations of full-service barber/beauty salons, case-management and pop-up shops.

When we do it: At the beginning of each year, RBCF reviews and selects one (or more) grooming project(s) that will produce the highest impact for our donors’ funding support.

Where we do it: Homeless shelters, public schools and other agencies that serve clients who lack access to regular grooming services.Past and present project operate in Baltimore Md., Annapolis Md. and Washington D.C.

Why we do it: RBCF has found that 90% of our targeted population lives at or below the current U.S. poverty guidelines and are unable to afford regular grooming services. Typically, agencies serving individuals in poverty often do not have the knowledge and skill to assist their populations with regular grooming. Therefore, the RBCF will institute a system or method within that agency to provide these grooming services long-term.

How we do it: RBCF regularly assesses the grooming needs of agencies who serve individuals living below U.S. poverty guidelines. If it is determined by the RBCF Board of Directors that there is sufficient need for services at a particular agency, RBCF seeks donors who are willing to underwrite a project to reduce or eliminate an agency’s problem.
