Youth with autism constantly experience barriers to experiencing the enjoyment of so many activities that the rest of us take for granted. Their abilities are overlooked and their capacity underestimated. The barriers they face are often more a result of the environment in which they live rather than a factor of their ability to participate.

On behalf of the NuPurpose, I would like to invite you to volunteer at our annual B.LU.E awards ceremony. B.L.U.E Awards celebrates achievements of children diagnosed with autism& other special needs. The day brings joy to families as we celebrate their child’s success. My beloved son Tiger inspired the B.L.U.E awards because as you know children with special needs are often misunderstood, and mistreated.

Your attendance to this event means tremendous support and will positively touch many lives. We would be honored if you would accept this invitation to join us for this event.

Here is a list of areas we need support:

Culinary Team a) Secure Caterer b) Provide Menu c) Servers on Buffet Line (need 4 volunteers) Registration Team a) Register Qualified Children for the B.L.U.E Awards b) Assist parents in completing the registration process when needed c) Collect photos (preferably Headshots) of all registered Children Decoration Team a) Provide a fashionable yet Kid-friendly atmosphere as if relates to our theme b) Utilize photos of Children from Registration Team in Decor c) Ensure Tables are prepped and have uniformity Media Team a) Secure media outlets to cover the entire B.L.U.E Weekend b) Send Invitations to Potential Guest c) Invite V.I.P.s to the event d) Create a Social Media Platform for the B.L.U.E Awards Weekend e) Send out thank you cards Volunteers a) Sign up volunteers b) Parking Lot Attendees c) Noise Makers/ Seat Fillers d) Award Table Attendee (Formal Attire) e) Stage Usher - Assist honorees and participants on and off stage (Formal Attire) f) Medical Director - Assist in case of emergency by calling 911 g) Snack Table Attendee - Assist in passing out snacks at the end of the event h) Hospitality i) Greeters Door & Guests j) Assist Caterer /Serve food k) Ushers l) Floor Directors (2) m) Medical (4) n) Gift Table o) Set Up/ Clean Up Break Down Sponsorship Team & In-Kind Donations a) Contact and obtain Sponsors b) Assist Media Team as needed c) Solicit In-Kind Donations
