ORGANIZATION: Emergency Food Network

  • A group opportunity. Invite your friends.

What is the Mobile Food Bank?

Emergency Food Network has teamed up with Nourish Pierce County to bring food to people in need in underserved communities. Visitors to the Mobile Food Bank use a small shopping cart along the center aisle of the trailer to select food from the shelves on either side.

Where and when?

We currently have volunteer openings at the Bethel High School location on Wednesdays from 4:00 - 7:00 pm. This is a great opportunity to lend a hand once a month or once a week! It’s also great for individuals and groups who have multiple members/staff that can rotate through the positions.

What are the volunteer roles and qualifications?

Volunteers help check clients in on a computer and distribute food directly to people in need. This is a perfect opportunity for individuals, students (must be 16 years old), and groups (rotate up your staff or members through one of the 5 positions each week)!

Questions? Ready to Register?

To volunteer at the Nourish/EFN Mobile Food Bank, please call our Coordinator of Volunteer Activities at (253) 584-1040 or e-mail volunteer@efoodnet.org.

About Emergency Food Network

Location:

3318 92nd Street South, Lakewood, WA 98499, US

Mission Statement

The mission of Emergency Food Network is "to provide Pierce County with a consistent, diverse and nutritious food supply so that no person goes hungry."

Description

"Currently, 1 in 10 people in Pierce County face food insecurity, and this need is continuing to rise. Through our 75+ Partner Programs (food pantries, meal sites, and shelters) all over Pierce County, EFN distributed over 14 million pounds of food in 2023 to our neighbors in need, including fresh produce grown at EFN’s Mother Earth Farm. This work was made possible by our 2,000+ volunteers, who worked over 12,000 hours in 2023. Volunteer work is vital in helping EFN pursue our mission of ensuring no person goes hungry. Volunteer opportunities include the Repack Project, Home Delivery, EFN’s Mother Earth Farm, and special events throughout the year. We hope you will join us!"
