Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) has been serving homeless families in Cincinnati for over 25 years and have recently partnered with Churches Active in Northside (CAIN) to host families at thier Grace Place House.

IHN functions differently than a normal shleter. We use faith congregations in the city to house our families for a week at a time. This allows us to offer our families a more comfortable and home like atmosphere during an otherwise traumatic time.

We have been very fortunate to have the opprotunity to partner with CAIN and house our families at Grace Place, but we need new groups to help host our families for a week at a time. This is a great opprotunity for groups to give back to the community. Kids are encouraged to volunteer with thier parents as well.

Currently we need volunteers/groups for the weeks of March 12th and 19th, April 23rd and May 28th.

For more information about hosting families at Grace Place please contact Hume Jamison.

Mission Statement

The mission of Found House Interfaith Housing Network is to provide homeless families and their pets emergency shelter and hospitality through interfaith communities and to work with these families to find and retain stable housing.

Description

Found House is a Unique Response to Homelessness, combining volunteers from the religious community with full-time professionals to reintegrate families into the community. Host Congregations are area churches, temples, and synagogues that provide three meals a day, private sleeping space, and volunteers to create a "home away from home" for the families. Support Congregations assist the Host Congregations by providing donated meals and volunteers. Case Manager helps families find and maintain permanent housing. Bus transports families back and forth between the congregations and the Day Center. The Day Center in Walnut Hills serves as a home base providing adult education classes, a kitchen, laundry facilities, showers, free telephones, a mailing address, computer facilities, and a children's playroom.
