Tacoma MESA is a STEM program, which exposes elementary-high school students to Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, we do this through our engineering design projects, such as, prosthetic arm, APP challenge, craft stick bridges, etc. Students start developing their project in September.

In March, over 500 Tacoma MESA students participate in our regional competition, MESA DAY, March 28, 2017, at PLU (where MESA is located). During this time students bring their projects and compete with other students. All is done in fun, however, our Middle/High School teams winners have an opportunity to attend State MESA DAY at Microsoft.

We need volunteer/judges to help make this event successful!

Volunteers DO NOT need to have a background in STEM, just have desire to support students. However, All volunteers will need to complete a WSP background and PLU volunteer form.

We do offer training and encourage everyone, especially First Time volunteers to attend. Training dates: Wed, March 22, 8am-10am, OR Thurs. March 23, 5pm-7pm. Most training last only 1 - 1 1/2 hours. You can leave early if needed.
